Matthew McCarley to Represent Clients in Poly-America Lawsuit

In 2020, a fire broke out at the Poly-America plastics manufacturing facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. Two years later, several residents of the area filed a lawsuit against Poly-America alleging the company’s negligence left them with a plethora of health issues. The fire occurred on August 19, 2020 and burned for 23 hours and was put out by firefighters from surrounding areas.

On May 1, 2024, Forester Haynie attorney Matthew McCarley entered an appearance on the case in which he, along with two other attorneys, will represent 133 individuals who are part of the lawsuit. Plaintiffs’ are seeking to compel the oral deposition of Oncor Energy Delivery Company, LLC, a hearing to argue that motion is set for June 21, 2024.

The case is called Ackin, et al v. Poly-America International, Inc., et al and is pending in Dallas County, Texas.
