Glyphosate: Part Of a Nutritious Breakfast

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Round-Up and the subject of thousands of lawsuits, has been found in our snacks and cereals… The Environmental Work Group found that 21 products created by General Mills contain levels of Glyphosate that are unsafe for children. Unfortunately, the EPA has different standards for what it considers “safe” for human consumption.

Environmental Work Group found Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch and Cheerios have Glyphosate levels at 833 parts per billion and 729 parts per billion, respectively. They consider anything over 160 parts per billion to be unsafe for children. Governmental bodies are not on the same page about the safety of Glyphosate.

The EPA has taken the position that Glyphosate is not a carcinogen, which is the main component to Round-Up’s legal defense in the thousands of lawsuits filed against them. The World Health Organization believes it is a real possibility that Glyphosate is a carcinogen. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Americans, have developed Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma or other cancer from their prolonged commercial or residential use of Round-Up.

Recently, a California jury listened to all evidence presented by plaintiff and defense attorneys during a trial in which an elderly couple claimed their prolonged exposure to Round-Up caused both of them to develop Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The Jury returned a $2 billion punitive damage verdict against Round-Up.

Glyphosate is a serious chemical that can have life-long effects. If you or someone you care about has used Round-Up and developed Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, please contact the experienced attorneys at Forester Haynie, PLLC.
